Politecnico di Milano is growing: new campus and laboratories designed by Renzo Piano
Politecnico di Milano is expanding constantly and attracts a growing number of national and international students, making it necessary to identify new spaces.
To meet this need, two projects have been designed by Renzo Piano in order to expand the study spaces and create new laboratories where theoretical knowledge is compared to practice.
The project combines the needs of the Politecnico with those of the city, for this reason, more than 8,000 sm will be dedicated for the creation of a green space accessible for all citizens.
The macro air involved in the regeneration and renewal process is Città Studi with two focused interventions.
The first in Via Bonardi where 4 new buildings are going to be built, which will host architectural modeling workshops, digital technologies and design, as well as study spaces and classrooms for a total of 4,200 sm.
The second project concerns the area of via Ponzio where the Chemical Engineering and Materials laboratories will be located, which will occupy over 12,000 square meters and will be dedicated to basic and applied research for the development of new materials, biomedical solutions and green chemistry.
The construction sites will start in June 2018 and by the end of 2020 the new areas will be accessible.
To achieve the projects, 55 million euros are needed and 10 MILLION LOSS.
Your contribution will be of service to make the project concrete and therefore favor the expansion and growth of the Polytechnic, but also the redevelopment of a part of the city of Milan.
We thank you:
